Why BAMCIS? What even is a “BAMCIS”?
BAMCIS is an acronym taught by the Marine Corps to help Marines remember the six troop leading steps: Begin Planning, Arrange for Reconnaissance, Make Reconnaissance, Complete the Plan, Issue the Order, and Supervise (the most important step). And this is the process we use at BAMCIS to turn ideas into actionable plans and plans into completed projects. BAMCIS would be employed when we receive a job (aka. mission) from our boss (aka. you)
The Process of BAMCIS (How we do it)
In layman’s terms, we make plans and then execute them. Let’s say someone gave you a task to do. What would you do? How would you go about setting started or following through to meet a timeline on a budget? Well I can tell you how we would do it, we would use BAMCIS. Here's what that would look like in general terms:
Begin Planning
The initial stage in this process is the planning stage. Concise planning is vital for work to be carried out effectively. Attention to detail is essential during this phase. To this end customers are asked detailed questions regarding task completion and on occasion the site will be visited to evaluate task requirements. Each planning stage is unique in its requirements. At this stage the initial plan is born.
Arrange for Reconnaissance
By now we have drafted the initial plan. This alone is not sufficient for the outcome you are pursuing. And this is where we as an organisation differ from others. We carry out further detailed research in order to ensure we find the very best solution for you.
Make Reconnaissance
A crucial stage in the process is personally visiting the site in question and evaluating what work is to be carried out. It is an opportunity to discuss potential plans with you and the customer and to answer any questions you may have.
Complete the Plan
We are now equipped with the information needed to complete the Plan.
Issue the Order
At this stage we have finalized the Plan and are ready to brief those who will be involved with the project. We ensure that everyone is made fully aware of the process and all that is entailed. Communication is key and we pride ourselves on our excellent communication skills.
Supervise (the most important step)
The planning is now complete. The project is underway. Carefully and thorough monitoring is carried out throughout the process to ensure work is being carried out correctly and to the highest standard. That is our commitment to you, the customer.
